Extreme Sailing Series 2014, Act 1 - Singapore

For the first time, Singapore hosted the opening round of the 2014 Extreme Sailing Series. This annual world tour was held over four days (20 to 23 February), where 12 teams competed for the top spot at the Marina Bay Reservoir.


Having the race at the Marina Bay Reservoir means the course is close to the shore, providing and challenging race for the teams and excitement for the spectators.

It was a fun and exciting day had for both the spectators and the sailors. Even if you're not into sailing or don't know too much about it, the event is still fun to watch.

The next stop for the Extreme Sailing Series is Muscat, Oman: 19 to 22 March, then Qingdao, China: 1 to 4 May, St Petersburg, Russia: 26 to 29 June, Cardiff, UK: 22 to 25 August, Istanbul, Turkey: 11 to 14 September, Mediterranean: 2 to5 October, and finally to Sydney, Australia: 11 to 14 December.
